Comrades, raising our rebellious fists from the Greek metropolises, we welcome your initiative to honor the memory of comrade Alfredo M. Bonanno. A few kilometers next to you, the answer to the question “why is it necessary to highlight the historicity of comrade Alfredo’s work”, lies in the simplest concepts: the constant need of the free man to rebel against impoverishment and the constant necessity, the world of impoverishment to be completely destroyed.
In an era of political retreat and remission, it is our collective duty to cancel the natural death of a comrade, giving breath and vitality to the principles that characterized his life and passage from every field of struggle. To fight radically and aggressively, for the sharpening of the conflict in all fields of social antagonism. To fight to win, not moments, but the totality of freedom.
Comrade Alfredo, through his work, constantly reminds us that it is not slavery, but consent to the shackles and subjugation that annihilates the absoluteness of freedom. It is ultimately the alienated consciousness itself that reproduces the capitalist cycle of production and its shackles. Therefore, in the face of the illusions of capitalist democracy, the only way to march towards freedom is that of destruction, not reform. The destruction of the state and capitalism, the destruction of the democracy of illusions and submission, the destruction of every relation of exploitation and power that emanates from domination.

Carrying on our backs the deaths of a comrade of ours, the anarchist militant Kyriakos Ximitiris who lost his life during a premature detonation of an explosive mechanism at a home in Ampelokipi at noon on October 31st, the severe injury and the captivity of comrade Marianna who was at that very moment next to him and the manhunt of the counter-terrorist forces towards the ranks of the anarchist revolutionary struggle with arrests, imprisonments and demonizations of our comrades, we only have to stand up with responsibility and with the head held high in front of the questions posed by each and every one of us. Comrade Kyriakos was a revolutionary who gave this answer, taking the revolutionary case very seriously. The questions raised by the gap left behind come to answer Alfredo’s own theory: anarchist struggle for absolute freedom, constant insurrectionary constitution, attack, attack, attack.
